Counselling

(Traditional Talk Therapy)

Counselling is a process of talking about and working through your personal problems in a positive way by helping you to clarify the issues, explore options, develop strategies and increase self awareness.

I look forward to giving you the space and time to share your story and encourage you to take the potential step to reach your goals.

Tapping

(Ready to give Tapping a go)

Tapping, also known as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is based on the combined principles of ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology. Tapping with the fingertips on specific meridian endpoints of the body, while focusing on negative emotions or physical sensations, helps to calm the nervous system, rewire the brain to respond in healthier ways.

Tapping can support issues around stress, anxiety, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder, weight control and limiting beliefs.

Tap & Talk

(Not sure, let’s give something a go)

Is an amazing practice that can reduce stress while you talk about your issues.  It incorporates Counselling & Tapping in the same session, as each technique enhances the others effect. Tapping appears to have a direct effect on the amygdala (stress centre in the brain) and lowers the stress hormone cortisol (cortisol is one of the main stress hormones). Once these things are directly targeted the sense of calm in the body allows for the issues you are facing to become clearer and allows for a greater awareness with support of how to better manage the tensions in your life with counselling.

Parenting/Behavioural Support

I have been a social worker for over 25 years with the majority of my career spent working with families.  I have experience in both early intervention support (under 6 years of age) along with supporting families with children with disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder.  I work in a wholistic manner not only looking at the behaviour of the child and what they are trying to tell us but also what parenting techniques are being used.  As we are all different there is no one solution that fits all.

*Please note I am not registered with the NDIA to provide behaviour support.

Professional Supervision

Individual supervision is a positive and enabling process that offers the opportunity to identify solutions to problems and improve practice.

Group supervision involves the use of a group setting to enable members to reflect on their work. By pooling skills, experience and knowledge, the aim of the session is to improve the skills and capability of both individuals and the group.

*Supervision available to both NDIS Support Coordinators and Social Workers.

NDIS Support

Funding for this appointment can be done both privately or paid for via the NDIS plan.
